Walking on the Wrong Side

Maybe I am OCD or too rule oriented but I always wonder why people walk down the wrong side of the road. Where I live there are sidewalks on one side of the road only. It makes perfect sense to walk on the sidewalk but I see innumerable people walking on the other side of the road. Most times, at least they are walking facing traffic but I still wonder what motivates these people to take the added risk of walking where driver’s are not expecting them to be? And I guess I get a little miffed when my tax dollars went toward putting in a very nice sidewalk and then people choose to ignore it.

Beyond that, if these ‘wrong side walkers’ get hit by a car, more of my tax dollars have to go toward fixing them up so they can do it again! If you feel like I do, I recommend you read my post titled Stupid Insurance.

If you are one of these walkers, I would ask you to comment, explaining your perspective on the situation.
